Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has officially announced that World Superbike (WorldSBK) superstar Toprak Razgatlıoğlu will return to the Yamaha family in the 2026 season, making his highly anticipated debut in the premier class of MotoGP with the Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP Team. This strategic move, confirmed today, ends months of speculation and marks a significant chapter for both the Turkish rider and Yamaha.

Razgatlıoğlu, a two-time WorldSBK Champion (winning titles with Yamaha in 2021 and with BMW in 2024), is widely considered one of the most exciting talents in motorcycle racing. After a stellar stint in the FIM Superbike World Championship from 2018 to 2025, where he has accumulated 63 victories so far, becoming the second most victorious rider of all time in WorldSBK history, the 28-year-old Turkish rider is ready to embrace the ultimate challenge of MotoGP.

His transition to the factory-supported Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP Team, a collaborative effort between Yamaha and Pramac, is a key strategic decision. Yamaha views this partnership as crucial for bringing Razgatlıoğlu’s unique talent to the pinnacle of motorcycle racing. Paolo Pavesio, Managing Director of Yamaha Motor Racing, expressed his excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Toprak back into the Yamaha family. Toprak, the most victorious Yamaha rider of all time in Superbike, has proven to be an exceptional talent.” Pavesio highlighted Razgatlıoğlu’s “fighting spirit and determination” as a perfect fit for both the team and Yamaha’s ambitious MotoGP strategy.

The move also comes at a pivotal time for Yamaha and Pramac. Pramac Racing, which secured the Independent Team title from 2021-2024 and even the MotoGP Rider World Championship in 2024 with Jorge Martin, became Yamaha’s ‘second factory team’ in 2025. This setup ensures that Razgatlıoğlu will have access to identical factory-spec machinery as Yamaha’s other factory riders, signaling Yamaha’s strong commitment to returning to the forefront of MotoGP.

Further details regarding the complete 2026 line-up of the Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP Team will be communicated in due course. Razgatlıoğlu’s move is a clear indication of his long-held ambition to compete in MotoGP on competitive machinery, and his return to Yamaha sets the stage for a compelling new challenge in his illustrious career.
