What a race we had the chance to witness in Silverstone for this British GP, as drama was all over from early on until the very end. Marco Bezzecchi ended up being the one to had the best smile as he got to win his first race with Aprilia, in a GP that certainly will not be forgotten so soon!

Here is the selection of tires for this GP, for all the riders, on a day when the strong wind was felt a lot!

And the start was chaotic from the start… for yesterday’s Sprint winner, Álex Márquez! The Gresini rider had a great start and took the lead but crashed completely unexpectedly and completely alone. Tire and brake temperature may have been the cause of this setback.

In this way Marc Márquez took the lead ahead of Fabio Quartararo, with Pecco Bagnaia in third. Fermín Aldeguer was fourth while Luca Marini was fifth.

And the falls didn’t stop there as Aleix Espargaró, wildcard for this GP with Honda, fell, as did Franco Morbidelli, but the situation would get worse!

Marc Márquez also crashed and due to the oil that remained on the track, the track was red flagged. Chaotic start to the race at Silverstone with four riders on the ground early on.

In the meantime, the race direction team informed all four riders that they could return to the race as half of the total race distance had not been completed.

After all the drama and with the information that the race would be taken in its entirety.

The pitlane opened after the cleaning work on the track had been completed and the riders were able to return to the track:

At the restart Quartararo was able to get off to a good start, with Bagnaia also improving and now in second place ahead of Marc Márquez.

Within two laps Quartararo had a 1.7s lead over… Jack Miller. The Australian surprised with a very high level, beating his former Ducati teammate Bagnaia, with Johann Zarco in fourth and M.Márquez in fifth.

Zarco meanwhile came third and Álex Márquez was fourth, ahead of Joan Mir. Marc was ninth and Bagnaia tenth, after the team’s factory duo went too wide, with the competition taking full advantage.

Bagnaia’s nightmare didn’t end there, as on the fourth lap the Italian crashed and was out of the race. Quartararo was leading by 3.6s over Miller, while Bezzecchi was third.

Quartararo didn’t give in and was increasing the gap to Miller, now by 4.4s.

With nine laps to go, this was the top ten, with Bezzecchi in second place and Marc Márquez in fourth:

The world leader was 8.8sec off the lead but with a few laps to go.

And the drama didn’t stop there! Unbelievable! Quartararo had the race under control but deliberately abandoned after being seen to raise his arm, possibly due to technical problems, and so it was Bezzecchi who was in the lead.

Apparently the M1’s front end may have broken and the Frenchman was thus out of the race, in tears. Inconsolable…

And in the midst of some bad luck, others were smiling: Bezzecchi was leading by 3s over Zarco, and Marc Márquez was third, 2s behind the Honda Frenchman, with five laps to go.

As the race went to the last three laps Bezzecchi had more than 4s over Zarco, who instead had 1.2s to Marc Márquez. Could the spaniard still get on the second place?!

The #93 was overtaken by Franco Morbidelli, but got to fight back at the very end to take the podium as Bezzecchi took the win in Silverstone!
