When SuperMotorcross took the best of Supercross and Motocross and bundled them together into one series, motorcycle racing fans could not hold back their delight. To make matters even better, the championship had a $10 million prize! Naturally, riders, bike manufacturers, and all other players in the industry were eager to get in the game. And now, due to a recent announcement by SuperMotorcross, fans will also get to enjoy the high stakes. Thanks to the availability of legal wagers backed by impressive betting offers, fans can now back their favorite riders with bets. But how will this move change this sport? We find out.

It’s Official! You Can Now Bet on SuperMotocross

Since its inception, fans have always placed wagers on SuperMotocross races, often choosing peer-to-peer interactions. But now, they can do so through legal betting sites following an announcement that SuperMotorcross had partnered with ALT Sports Data to provide betting options to fans. Thanks to this partnership, bettors can rest assured that the wagers are taking place under the confines of fair and transparent guidelines that are further enhanced through measures such as advanced compliance tools. But what does this mean for this sport?

More Fan Engagement

There is no denying that the races are so thrilling that fans can barely take their eyes off the riders. But with betting in play, this engagement will only increase. How so?

  • The thrill of taking a risk. When riders race, they get to feel the adrenaline rush of speeding as they work hard to win. The fans can only imagine what this feels like. But now that they will have something on the line, they will be just as engaged as the riders.
  • The joy of correct predictions. Many fans engage in conversations about who they think will win. And when their guesses are correct, they feel happy. This time around, they will have the chance to get something in return for such moments, which will double their excitement.

Fans who love doing deep dives will also love the opportunities that the wagers present. After all, the more they look into aspects such as track conditions and rider performance, the more they will know about the races and the more invested they will be in the outcomes.

Higher Viewership Rates

While SuperMotorcross races attract a wide audience, the sport is fairly new and has yet to make a significant impact around the world. In fact, most of the audience is in the U.S. By allowing sports bets, the race organizers will have the opportunity to spread awareness about the sport. Already, this has started showing in the race viewership as people are now tuning in from different regions, including Europe and Australia.

Projections show that the races are likely to attract people who follow similar sports, including F1, who will be happy to make the move to this growing sport. And with ALT Sports Data providing official race data to this new audience, more people will be eager to watch the races take place as well as make some wagers on the same.

Increased Revenue Generation

Past the adrenaline rushes and dopamine hits, this series is still a business, and many people depend on it for sustenance. The introduction of wagers has thus been a welcome idea as it paves the way for the following income streams:

  • Partnership deals: Many bookies will be more than happy to work with riders and their teams in the near future. Such collaborations may be through advertising or event promotions.
  • Sponsorships: In the past, bookies have worked with sportspeople through sponsorships and brand endorsements. While it is not clear if this is a direction that will be evident in this series, predictions have shown that some teams and riders could take this route.

The money generated from such partnerships and collaborations will go a long way in paying salaries and wages, improving the training infrastructure, and enhancing the professional support that riders need to excel in the races. Ultimately, these changes will improve the outlook of this sport, enabling it to attract a wider audience.
