David Muñoz’s victory in Moto3 deeply moved Fermín Aldeguer. The Spanish rider admitted to identifying with Muñoz’s journey and praised how he handled the pressure and race dynamics.

Speaking during the Aragón GP Aldeguer said: ‘Honestly, it moved me, because we’ve all gone through that phase where things don’t work. And when a win comes that lifts a huge weight off your shoulders and makes you really believe you can win — that moved me. I put myself in his shoes’.

Aldeguer believes the win could mark a turning point for Muñoz. ‘I think so. In our group, Héctor, my assistant, and I, we tell him things are much simpler than he makes them. So I think a race like today — where he was overtaken, touched, and still stayed calm without overreacting and won — can teach him a lot’.

The young rider also stressed the importance of mental control under pressure.

For Aldeguer, Muñoz’s triumph is a reminder of how emotional resilience can be the key to success in motorsport.

What a race we’ve just witnessed in Aragón, ending with a remarkable debut victory—after often being talked about for less positive reasons, David Muñoz secured his first win in the category, beating Máximo Quiles right at the finish line.

With the sun shining over Aragón, the first race of the day was set to begin under 22ºC air temperature and 37ºC track temperature in Moto3.

The pole sitter got off to a strong start, with Máximo Quiles in second and Luca Lunetta in third, ahead of Álvaro Carpé and Davide Muñoz. But misfortune struck early for Stefano Nepa and Vicent Perez at Turn 9.

After three laps, David Almansa emerged as a new contender, moving up to third ahead of Muñoz. Carpé was fifth, with Angel Piqueras close behind.

The race maintained a strong pace, with Rueda holding onto the lead, while others faced setbacks, including Jacob Roulstone, who suffered a bike issue that forced him into the garage and an early retirement.

Lunetta launched an attack, going from fourth to second in the span of a lap after overtaking Muñoz. As always, the front riders were tightly packed. Muñoz responded the following lap, reclaiming second place just as Rueda started feeling the pressure from #64.

During lap 12, Rueda lost the lead with two riders alongside him. In a flash, he dropped from first to third, with Lunetta now leading, and his troubles continued as he fell further to sixth.

With four laps remaining, the top five stood as follows: Quiles, Muñoz, Almansa, Lunetta, and Taiyo Furusato.

Almansa briefly took the race lead but was then overtaken by Quiles, only to fight back moments later. It was a classic Moto3-style dramatic finish!

With two laps to go, the top six riders were separated by just 0.507s!

Quiles regained the lead, entering the final lap with a 0.072s advantage over Almansa, while Muñoz climbed to second. Rueda ran wide and dropped to ninth, making victory an almost impossible task.

As the race neared its thrilling conclusion, Quiles seemed poised for the win, but Muñoz was closing in fast. The #64 rider used the slipstream to set up a decisive overtake two corners from the finish and, in a near photo-finish moment, clinched his victory in Aragón!

A brilliant race to kick off Sunday’s action!

Jose Antonio Rueda remains strong and has just secured another pole position for the Aragon Grand Prix. The KTM rider attacked in the final minutes to cement his dominant performance.

After Q1 in Spain, Máximo Quiles, Ryusei Yamanaka, Taiyo Furusato, and Vicente Perez were the riders who stood out and advanced to Q2.

A few minutes after the start of the session, David Muñoz and Adrián Fernández crashed, while Rueda led, although he was beaten by Luca Lunetta and then by David Almansa. Álvaro Carpe was next, with a lap of 1:57.114s. The Italian improved his time and entered the second 56, as did Quiles, with 1:56.848s.

This was followed by a trip to the garage, with Lunetta in second, 0.149s behind the CFMOTO Viel Aspar Team rider.

On the return, the times were practically unchanged for the front runners until the final minute: Rueda finished and moved into the lead with a lap 0.026s faster than Lunetta, who, although he improved his time, fell short of the championship leader, who completed a lap in 1:56.361s.

And the pole position was confirmed shortly afterwards.

Fifth win of the year gives Spaniard commanding lead

Jose Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo) is riding high. A flawless victory from the back of the grid at Silverstone was his fifth of the season, giving him a 54-point lead in the Championship as rivals Angel Piqueras and Joel Kelso failed to score.

Next up: Aragon, where Rueda won last year. The momentum is entirely his.

Maximo Quiles (CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team) earned a debut Grand Prix podium and will be eager to impress again on home soil. Luca Lunetta and rookie sensation Alvaro Carpe also arrive with strong recent form.

Taiyo Furusato wants to bounce back from a penalty-hit Silverstone race, while Adrian Fernandez returns to action. The Moto3 pack is determined to end Rueda’s dominance, but so far, he’s been unstoppable.

The Motorland Aragón circuit prepares to host MotoGP and its support categories, Moto2 and Moto3, this week at a time when Marc Márquez arrives as championship leader. The Catalan rider maintains the consistency that has characterized him this season, having stepped onto the podium once again at the last race in Silverstone.

The British Grand Prix brought significant developments to the championship. Marco Bezzecchi gave Aprilia its first victory of the season, a triumph that gained even more relevance after the contractual rupture between Jorge Martín and the Italian brand became known. Johann Zarco completed the British podium in second position, consolidating the good form he has been showing since his victory in the rain at Le Mans.

The Silverstone race also revealed contrasts among the title favorites. Pecco Bagnaia showed signs of improvement by qualifying directly for Q2, but a zero on Sunday due to a crash compromised his aspirations. Fabio Quartararo experienced a similar situation, starting from pole position and leading the race when a technical problem with his Yamaha deprived him of a possible victory.

For Marc Márquez, Motorland represents familiar territory – the Aragonese circuit even has a corner named after him, reflecting his successful history at this track. This special connection makes the Spaniard one of the main favorites for the weekend, at a time when he seeks to consolidate his championship lead.

Moto3 promised and did not disappoint, with Jose Antonio Rueda becoming only the third rider in history to win in Moto3 after starting from the back of the grid! Only Brad Binder (2016) and David Alonso (2023) had done it before!

All set for the final race of the British GP as Moto3 took to the track. Álvaro Carpe was in pole position for the first time, with Ángel Piqueras and David Almansa on the front row, followed by Joel Kelso, Maximo Quiles and Luca Lunetta.

Carpe got off to a good start, but Almansa quickly moved to the front of the race, with Quiles in third. Piqueras made a mistake and lost positions and was fifth, while Dennis Foggia seems to have had a problem with his bike and was forced to retire straight away.

Yamanaka had two long laps to complete and was warned about this, while Almansa was not forgotten with one.

Quiles followed at the head of the race with Lunetta behind and Carpe in third, Carpe was fourth, Kelso fifth and Piqueras sixth.

On the fourth lap a new leader appeared, in David Muñoz, while Valentin Perrone was moving up and was fourth. The fastest on the track was Rueda, who was in 12th position.

And drama struck again at Silverstone, with Kelso as the figurehead: the Australian rose to the lead of the race and then crashed! A lap later, Muñoz crashed and there was fire, literally, on the circuit!

Lunetta, meanwhile, was sanctioned with a long lap for causing a crash, and he was second behind Quiles with the GP roughly halfway over.

Almansa was second again ahead of Carpe, with Guido Pini fifth behind Piqueras. Rueda, on the rise, was already close to Pini and beat his opponent.

The #22 was very fast and came to the front of the race, with the places behind him constantly changing. Rueda, meanwhile, continued his climb and was already third.

With five laps to go Carpe was next in the lead, with Quiles just 0.007s behind and Almanda 0.047s behind.

A couple of laps later Rueda, the championship leader, was finally in the lead, with Perrone second and Quiles third. The predictions of uncertainty for this GP turned out to be spot on, as there were seven riders within 0.43s!!!

With two laps to go Rueda remained the leader and 0.108s ahead of Quiles, with the gap soon growing to two tenths.

The last lap promised a lot and Quiles moved right to the front, leading at the start of the last sector! Quiles held on to the lead despite Rueda’s attack, but the KTM Spaniard went on the attack and very close to the end managed to beat Quiles, with Rueda winning in Silvertone by 0.046s!

The MotoGP British GP is taking place this weekend, and even before the end of this seventh round of the season, the dates for next year have already been announced.

After being moved to the end of May, the British event will return to its more traditional dates in 2026 – scheduled for August 7 to 9.

Since 2010, Silverstone has been the home of the British GP. During this period, it was only absent from the calendar in 2020 due to the cancellation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the past, the circuit had already hosted the Motorcycle World Championships in the 1970s and 1980s (it was the first home of the British GP in 1977), before giving way to Donington Park. Between 1949 and 1976, the only British round was the Isle of Man TT.
